This course is an introduction to mosquitoes and mosquito control for employees in the urban pest management industry. Students will learn to identify and understand the mosquitoes of major importance in the urban environment, their life cycles, the general methods of control, personal protective equipment required for safe insecticide application, and the laws and regulations governing mosquito control for the urban pest management industry.
The course is composed of 11 modules. Each module takes about 20-30 minutes to complete and do not have to be completed at one time. Each module has a 10 question exam at the end that must be passed with a grade of greater than 75% in order to go on to the next module.
All students successfully completing all modules will receive a certificate of course completion. Technicians are able to have these certificates placed in their personnel file folders to document successful completion of the course. Certified operators will also receive a CEU form for 4 CEUs (2 GHP/L&O and 2 CORE). This form can be submitted to FDACS in order to receive CEU credits.
